Monument preservation & Urban redevelopment

As the lower monument protection authority, the Building Regulations and Monument Preservation Department is responsible for the protection of almost 300 architectural and art monuments in Lingen. There are several hundred archaeological sites known in the urban area of Lingen, from accidental individual finds to large-scale finds. Archaeological investigations take place almost continuously in Lingen, and the city archeology department provides information about the results through lectures, guided tours and publications.

The renovation and redesign of the station building is one of the most important inner-city construction projects. The aim of the redesign is to restore the exterior of the station building to its condition around 1850.
